The Bialystoker Synagogue ushered in Purim with a pre-Purim carnival on February 29, 2004, held in the Ralph Lippman Auditorium. Costumed children of all ages played games and won prizes. A big favorite was Moonwalk, a game that let participants simulate weightlessness. On the afternoon of Purim, March 7, 20 people came to the shul for a Purim seudah, the special festive meal celebrating the holiday. Students from Rabbi Romm's Talmud class at Yeshiva University helped make the occasion an especially joyous one. © Copyright 2001-2005.
